Nikolaos Samartiz Awarded at SSC 2024; Workshop on Energy Storage Innovations featuring EMPHASIS project
Nikolaos Samartiz, a researcher from partner FORTH involved in the EMPHASIS project, received an award for his outstanding oral presentation at the 15th International Conference on Solid State Chemistry (SSC 2024). His presentation, titled "Laser-assisted deposition of graphene/metal-based nanohybrids for superior electrochemical energy storage," was recognized for its significant contribution to the field. This achievement underscores the commitment to advancing cutting-edge research in energy storage technologies through the EMPHASIS project. Congratulations to Nikolaos on this well-deserved recognition!
Additionally, a workshop titled “Electrochemical Energy Storage Materials and Processes” was co-organized by GRAPHERGIA in collaboration with EMPHASIS-Supercaps and INERRANT Batteries. This session took place as part of the Horizon Europe Satellite Event at SSC 2024 in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic (September 8-13, 2024), and featured key presentations on innovative energy storage technologies. Dr. Apurba Ray from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) presented on “Quasi-solid Polymer Electrolytes for All-in-one Self-charging Structural Energy Storage Devices.”
